Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Financial Analyst to join our Consulting Business line in the in Burnaby office.

 

About the role

  • Monitor and analyze key performance trends and evaluate issues raised by senior leadership
  • Ensure weekly/monthly/quarterly management reporting deliverables are reliable and met on a timely basis
  • Lead various month-end related tasks and analyze variance to budget results
  • Analyze financial, business line and operational management information to support various needs of business unit leaders.
  • Assist the FP&A Manager with driving the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process
  • Work with business intelligence tools (Iris) dashboard reporting (incorporate Iris, AR/WIP, Statistical reporting/EAC/forecasting), and Power BI
  • Work closely with various functional teams to ensure DSO/WIP/revenue recognition is accurate and to mitigate risk
  • Track and evaluate key financial indicators (KPIs) to assess project progress and identify risks or opportunities
  • Conduct regular financial reviews of projects to assess budget adherence, cost efficiency, and profitability
  • Monitor project financial performance, analyze variances against budget, and provide insights to stakeholders.
  • Support the FP&A Manager/VP with various ad-hoc information requests in a timely manner.
  • Proactively provide business leaders with the necessary financial advice and insightful analysis to support business decision making process

 

About you 

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or commercial engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial management, including advanced knowledge of business planning, development of costing, formulating and monitoring budgets, and financial reporting, models and systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills is mandatory.
  • Experience in Oracle, Anaplan, and Power BI is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis or related experience.
  • Prior experience in an engineering or construction environment is an asset.

Salary range: $65,000 - $85,000 

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
