Our team in Braizl is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Legal Counsel, Intermediate to join our Legal team in the in Belo Horizonte - MG office.

About the role: 

  • Review, draft, negotiate, and assess potential risks in contractual documents with clients and suppliers.
  • Draft and review legal documents and a wide variety of contracts, with a focus on engineering services and EPCM.
  • Prepare detailed recommendations for the approval of contractual and commercial documentation and coordinate internal approval.
  • Act as a strategic partner, providing legal guidance and administrative support in the company’s processes and negotiations.
  • Present a summary of the legal and commercial requirements of executed contracts and participate in contract handover meetings with the project team.
  • Actively support senior management by developing innovative, high-quality commercial proposals and pricing strategies.
  • Advise internal clients on corporate, commercial, environmental, and labor law matters.
  • Research and respond to the company’s legal inquiries related to disputes, regulatory issues, intellectual property, privacy, fraud, and claims.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on legal topics such as anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, competition law, negotiation, and contract management.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law.
  • Postgraduate degree in Business or Contract Law (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate/contract law, preferably as in-house counsel in mining, energy, or construction sectors, or in law firms serving clients in these areas.
  • Strong understanding of legal concepts applicable to engineering and consulting services, including EPCM and EPC projects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills and ability to work with all levels of management.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Advanced English;
  • Spanish is a plus;
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office package.
