About the role

  • Experience in the design of concrete and steel structures, development of foundation layout and reinforcement drawings, and pre-design of architectural layouts for mining service areasAssist with redlines/revisions for in-progress and completed designs.
  • Prepare 3D civil / earthwork model and 2D civil drawings (profiles, sections, details) for industrial and mining projects.
  • Specific tasks include design of downstream building, ancillary areas and facilities, site planning, grading and bulk earthwork, drainage, roads, parking lots, sewage collection, water distribution, and stormwater management.
  • Liaise with engineers for direction, specifications, and feedback.
  • Maintain consistent design drafting standards across projects by communicating expectations and holding project members to account for standards.
  • Perform and verify calculations.
  • Interface with other disciplines (architectural, mechanical, piping, electrical) to ensure that structural drawings are incorporated with other discipline requirements.

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
  • Minimum of 6 years experience, primarily in the design of civil infrastructure for industrial & mining projects
  • Experience in consulting engineering is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a must.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D modelling and/or Tekla is desired.
  • Flexible and open to occasional travel to project sites as required.
  • Proficiency in performing material take-offs and proposals is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of multi-functional project teams is a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Spanish and English.
