We are looking for an individual to join our Earth and Environment Team, as a Technical Proposal Lead and Project Manager. You’ll bring your knowledge of all aspects of site assessment, investigations, and remediation to work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects across Canada and internationally. You will work closely with the proposals teams to lead and support technical proposal requirements.

The development of a strong and appropriate network within the company to facilitate the identification and sharing of relevant information, best practices, etc. between offices is integral to the Technical Proposal Lead and Project Manager role.

Ideally this role would be based out of our Burlington, ON, Calgary, AB, Victoria, BC, Burnaby, BC and Whitehorse, YT offices, but for the right candidate remote options are available. 

About the role 

  • Develop and maintain key client relationships and support growth of the team and business. 
  • Direct and perform highly complex or specialized aspects of the work while working with technical experts and overseeing projects involving multiple service areas and subcontracts as well as stakeholder, client and / or schedule challenges. 
  • Provide support and advice within and outside of the organization. 
  • Budgeting and scheduling.
  • Coordinate to align and capture the knowledge, capability, and experience to develop an integrated offering of Ausenco’s services to our clients.
  • Support the successful development of compliant, competitive, and compelling proposals, RFIs, pre-qualifications, and EOIs through effective collaboration across teams that include internal staff, other business lines and / or outside partners / suppliers in order to provide the best strategic and technical approach on proposals.
  • Assist with kick-off, win planning, proposal technical review, and other meetings as necessary.
  • Provide direction and guidance on Ausenco’s processes, procedures, and standards to the SAR team to ensure compliance.
  • Assist with developing innovative solutions or leveraging the corporate network to identify existing capabilities that respond to the client challenges and create a distinctive competitive advantage.
  • Work with the proposal team to develop and articulate win-themes and key messages and ensure they are consistently integrated into relevant sections of the proposal.
  • Conduct proposal debriefs with clients, partners, and staff as necessary, collate and distribute lessons learned, and application of learnings to future proposals.
  • Communicate and collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders to assist with gathering proposal technical content.
  • Organize and participate in response-related meetings (internal and / or client), as appropriate.

About you

  • 8+ years of progressive experience that includes both project management and proposal‑related responsibilities within environmental consulting, demonstrating your ability to lead complex work while supporting strategic business development efforts.
  • Recognized as a technical leader in environmental investigations and remediation with a dedication to and passion for your discipline. 
  • Basic understanding of contaminated sites regulatory requirements. 
  • Experience within land development, mining and / or transportation is an asset. 
  • Consulting acumen, including an entrepreneurial spirit, strong self-direction, and overarching belief in client satisfaction. 
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office software.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and training staff. 
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solver able to pose relevant questions to enable completion of low-definition tasks.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated, confident, energetic, and creative.

Salary range: $110,000 - $130,000 annually

Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.  

If you have slightly less experience than listed, we still welcome your application—final compensation will be assessed based on skills, experience, and overall fit for the role.
